House moves and viewings to resume in England

House moves and viewings will be able to resume again in England from today, under new UK government coronavirus rules. From today, the government has made it legal to carry out viewings, house moves and trips to letting or estate agents. The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 say people may leave the home “to undertake any of the following activities in connection with the purchase, sale, letting or rental of a residential property”. This includes visiting estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes; viewing residential properties to look for a property to buy or rent; and moving home. However, While essential or pre-planned moves were allowed, ministers had strongly discouraged people from moving home.
