The government has agreed to extend the deadline for the Help to Buy scheme after buyers were struck by delays because of Covid. House buyers now have until May 31 to take advantage of the scheme. “Help to Buy will end on 31 March 2021, but homebuyers using the current scheme will have more time to complete their purchase,” a Homes England statement said. The extension applies to those already mid-way through a transaction, and Homes England said any buyers experiencing further delays past May 31 will not be granted an extension.
